We need to pray for these guys...

Take a look at the pictures of these guys. That's one awesome group there. Let us say a prayer for them as they begin their ministries as priests...

Ordination Class of 2009

This being Good Shepherd Sunday, don't fogrget to say a short prayer for your own priests as well! It is important, especially in these difficult times, that we stand behind our shepherds, and show them the support they need...

Blessings and peace,
Dean

Prayers of the Church Militant

Throughout our daily lives, there is a constant need to let go and let God, to trust in His guidance and graces. One of the basic tenets of the Christian faith is to give everything to Him, especially in prayer.

There is also a need in today's world to turn back to the Sacred, to give our all to him, and to trust in the power of prayer, to trust in the Faith that He has given us.

We all have people in our lives that pass along prayer requests, whether they be in petition or thanksgiving. It is for this reason that I have created the group on Facebook called Prayers of the Church Militant, which can also be delivered via email by signing up in the box on the right hand side of this site.

Every two days or so, a short reflection will be sent out, along with a few prayer requests that have been received.

Click here for the Facebook group.

To join the email list itself, enter your address on the right, or send an email to prayersofthechurchmilitant-subscribe [at] yahoogroups.com and reply to the confirmation.

To submit a prayer request (no need to join the list if you don't want to) send a note to:
prayers [at] servantfortruth.com

Let us all remember to turn to the Father in all we do, and give our lives totally to him!

Blessings and peace,
Dean

Please Pray

Please pray for the family of Samantha, the daughter of a very close family friend. At sixteen months old, she was in a tragic accident, and did not survive. Please pray for peace of heart and mind for the family during this difficult time. May they all experience the loving grace and peace of God in the coming days....

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Joseph, protector of families, pray for us.

Pax et bonum,
Dean

UPDATED: Please pray for Kevin...

From Lee Anne's blog, Life Thoughts:

Dear Friends - Kevin is still in critical condition and he needs all the prayers he can get. He has pneumonia and is running a fever. His body is trying hard to breath over the ventilator, which does not let him rest as much as he should in order to heal from the pneumonia. The ICU staff working with him are so wonderful - they do such a good job in loving him, even though they do not even know him and it is their 'job'.

Life is messy - it is not always pretty and it is not always easy. It is difficult when we are faced with a crisis. The difficulty is in knowing how to respond. How do we best help Kevin? The Church teaches us that Kevin is an intrinsically valuable person. He deserves to be treated, to be comforted, to be fed, even though he cannot respond to us. Kevin is made, like the rest of us, in the image and likeness of God.

We do not abandon Kevin. We love him, we care for him and we love his family members as they are going through an extremely difficult time.

Please pray for Joan, Keith, David, Nina and Kevin. Please pray for the wisdom of Solomon for Joan. Please pray for a miracle for Kevin.
Dear friends, please keep Kevin and his family in your prayers. Also, keep all those around him, including the doctors and medical staff, in your prayers.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Padre Pio, pray for us.

Blessings and peace,
Dean

UPDATE - 23:13

I just received an email that said Kevin's mom, Joan, has decided to remove him from the ventilator. Please continuing praying for Lee Anne (family friend), Joan, David, Amanda (David's girlfriend), and Nina (Kevin's Girlfriend). May they receive the Grace and Peace of Our Lord in this difficult time. Pray especially for Kevin, that he may be eased in this transition, and when the time comes, may he rest in the Eternal Peace of Christ...

Pax et bonum,
Dean
