Litany of Humility

I believe I may have posted this on the site before, but my friend Lee Anne reminded me of this beautiful prayer. This is something we would I all be good to strive for...

Many blessings,

Litany of Humility
By Cardinal Merry del Val
O Jesus meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred to others,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
From the fear of being calumniated,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I,
That others may be esteemed more than I,
That in the opinion of the world, others may increase, and I may decrease,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
That others may become holier than I, provided that I become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. Amen.

NaPraGoMo...

Yeah, I know it sounds weird, but it stands for National Pray to God Month. Started by the Ironic Catholic, the NaPraGoMo site includes a new post each day during the month of November for reflection and prayer. The point is to get everyone praying just 15 more minutes a day. Definitely an awesome cause!

The main site is here. If you'd like to officially sign up, leave a comment at this post, and feel free to put a mention in about it at your own blog...

The name may sound funny, but this is one habit that is worthwhile holding on to!!!

Blessings,
Dean

PS: And yes, I know I am a few days late. I kept seeing it around the net, but never looked into it till today. Silly me...

LINGUA LATINA

Oratio ante colligationem in interrete:

Omnipotens aeterne Deus,
qui secundum imaginem Tuam nos plasmasti
et omnia bona, vera, et pulchra,
praesertim in divina persona Unigeniti Filii Tui
Domini nostri Iesu Christi, quaerere iussisti,
praesta, quaesumus,
Amen.

ENGLISH

A prayer before logging onto the internet:

Almighty and eternal God,
who created us in Thy image
and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful,
especially in the divine person of Thy Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
grant, we beseech Thee,
that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor,
during our journeys through the internet
we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee
and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A prayer...

"Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,

my memory, my understanding

and my entire will,

All I have and call my own.

"You have given all to me.

To you, Lord, I return it.

"Everything is yours; do with it what you will.

Give me only your love and your grace.

That is enough for me."

From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
